Interiors

Quiet stillness and texture

Walking through the abandoned buildings in the Zone is more than a trudge through rubble. There is a deep sense of stasis paired with the inexorable march of time.

I cannot call it decay, even if the cement is slowly dissolving to dust and the wood rotting to damp splinters.

It’s more a matter of the smooth, refined edges of human construction embracing the effects of nature rather than resisting it.
